Pending Train

Last night I finished watching this short TV series. It was on Netflix, from Japan, and with 10 episodes. It was cute but definitely not as interesting and good as Unnatural.

The story basically follows a group of people whose train car (car #5) suddenly disappears, one morning, and who then find themselves (and their car) in the middle of the forest. After some investigation, they realize that they must be in the future, and that the world has been destroyed.

They have to organize themselves to survive, with nice, crazy, smart, young, depressed, selfish, and sometimes even mean people amongst them. There are those who are happy to have escaped the real world, those who are desperate to go back, those who are natural born leaders, those who have special skills that will help the group… And after some explorations, they even find another group of people, those who were in car #6, which also disappeared, but the « new society » they created to survive is very different than that of people in car #5.

Will they manage to get back, and if so, where and when will they land? As I said, it’s cute, but a bit shallow and overly simplified at times. I’d say it’s a good series for young adults.
